Statutory Certification of MODU
In order to carry out classification activities in a more effective manner, TASNEEF offers approval services for the following materials, machinery, and equipment:
- Steel plates, steel pipes, as well as non-ferrous and other materials, including welding materials
- Fire protection materials, insulating materials, and oil-impervious materials
- Engine room machinery and equipment, including electrical and automated machinery
- Ventilating systems and equipment for the prevention of marine pollution
- Anchors, chains, ropes, and other types of equipment and gear for ship use
- Equipment and devices used in life-saving appliances, fire extinguishing systems,
TASNEEF’s Type Approval Programme ensures that manufacturers obtain the greatest potential recognition for their products in marine and offshore markets across GCC countries and worldwide. Our programme ensures that our valuable clients benefit from end products that comply with national and international conventions, as well as TASNEEF Rules for Classification, through activities such as design appraisal, quality system and procedure reviews, inspections, and testing.
The Society also carries out the inspection and approval of companies that provide testing and measurement services used in the survey and registration of MODUs and machinery, as well as for the maintenance of class. This includes evaluating the quality management systems of these companies, the education, training, and qualifications of technical staff and other personnel engaged in providing the services, and inspecting the testing and measurement instruments and equipment used in the course of service delivery.
Companies that satisfactorily meet the requirements for providing a given service are approved as recognized service providers for the conduct of related surveys of MODUs and equipment.
